Step 1:

Print out the PDF containing the horn template below.

Step 2:

Trace over the verse written in light grey. Color the horn and decorate it as you please.

Step 3:

Cut along the dark solid line, and place a piece of tape along both sides of the bottom so that moisture doesn't ruin it later on.

Step 4:

Fold along the thin line and add a line of glue. Attach the glued tab to the right side and hold it firmly for about 30 seconds to secure it.

Reenactment Activity Instructions:

  1. Build a wall using the blocks.

  2. Place the yellow blocks, scarlet yarn, and play house objects inside of the wall.

  3. After building the tower and making horns, split the class up into four groups. One group should have exactly 7 kids in it.

  4. Have groups line up in the same order the Israelites did in Joshua 6:

    1st none Armed Guard
    2nd - group of 7 horns Priests with trumpets
    3rd bin with handles Priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant
    4th confetti fire on 7th day Rear Guard

  5. To simulate the first day have your class, silently circle the "Great Wall of Jericho" once.

  6. Next, have kids retreat to a seperate place that acts as base camp to rest for the "night". Shut off the lights for extra effects.

  7. Turn on the lights and repeat this five more times to complete the six days they marched around it silently. If you would like you can have groups alternate so they get to have different jobs.

  8. For the seventh time around, your class will march around seven times. On the seventh time the trumpet players will blare their trumpets while the soldiers yell.

  9. Knock the wall down as they shout.

  10. Order them to collect the gold blocks for the temple of God as well as the red string, which symbolizes the spies promise to Rahab. Burn the rest with the fake fire.

  11. Clean up and review.
