Bronze Serpent Lesson for Lent

Start by folding a piece of paper in half. I call this a hamburger fold.

Cut along the fold to create two each pieces of paper.

Take one of the half sheets and fold it in half so it is a skinny rectangle. I like to call it a hotdog fold to best illustrate how it should look. Feel free to use this termonology if it helps.

Cut three lines from the outer edge to the fold horizontally. You should end up with 3 foldable flaps as you can see below.

Decorate the exterior flaps. The first one should have the bronze serpent, the second should depict Christ crucified, and the final flap should have the verse of the day. After coloring each flap, write verses or notes on the inside of your foldable that relate to the two events in the lesson. See Numbers 21:4-9 & John 3:14-15 for reference.

Now for the most fun part of the lesson. Create your very own bronze serpent on a pole using playdough. When the parents return, they can do a show and tell about their creations.
