THE GIBEONITES TRICK JOSHUA

Making Connections:

In this lesson kids learn about how the Gibeonites tricked Israel into agreeing to a peace treaty of sorts. The Israelites did not cosult with the Lord first, and thus made a mistake because they chose to lean on their own understanding. The bookmark activity below will help kids reflect on how they should ask God for help when they are unsure about what to do.

Bookmark Materials:

printer + paper
scissors
crayons or markers
hole puncher
assorted yarn

Bookmark Instructions:

Step 1:

Print out the bookmark template below.

Step 2:

Cut out, color, and hole punch the bookmarks. Kids can also create their own designs on the back.

Step 3:

Cut off about 10-12 inches of yarn or ribbon.

Step 4:

Fold the piece of yarn in half. Next, push the folded end of the cord through the hole as shown.

Step 5:

Put the ends through the loop created at the folded end and pull tight.
