Visit of the Magi Snowglobe in a Bag

Materials:

construction paper
sandwich bag
sand
popsicle sticks
markers
animal crackers
pipe cleaners or star stickers
scissors
hole punch and paper or googly eyes
glue sticks
hot glue gun and hot glue sticks

Instructions:

Step 1:

Print out the PDF below in order to get your copy of the reading.

Step 2:

Cut out the readings and put them to the side for now.

Step 3:

Trim a piece of blue or black construction paper to fit the size of your ziploc.

Step 4:

Glue the reading onto one side of the construction paper. Slide it into the sandwich bag to ensure that it fits properly inside.

Step 5:

Split two popsicle sticks in half to make 4 pieces. You will only need to use three of those pieces for the craft.

Step 6:

Decorate the popsicle sticks using markers. Then, add the eyes. I used hole punched paper but you can use googly eyes if you'd like to.

Step 7:

Next, your going to glue the popsicle sticks onto the animal crackers. Make sure the animal crackers are facing the right. Attach the animal crackers to the construction paper, leaving about an inch from the bottom. Also, add a pipe cleaner star or sticker to the right corner.

Step 8:

Slide the construction paper back into the sandwich bag. I found that it was helpful to fold the paper like a taco to get it into the baggie.

Step 9:

Finally, add some sand into the sandwich bag. Make sure you seal it up well afterwards to prevent a mess. You could even tape the top down to prevent the kids from opening the bag up.
