Nativity Playing Cards

Materials:

printer + paper (cardstock works best)
crayons, colored pencils, markers, and/or pens
scissors
ziploc (to store your card deck)

Create Your Own Card Deck:

Step 1:

Print out your copies of the card template. You can access them by clicking on the button below.

Step 2:

Color all of the cards that already have pictures first.

Step 3:

Draw and color your own pictures for the rest of the cards. Try to get them to match as best as you can.

Step 5:

Cut out all 52 cards.

Step 6:

You did it! Click on the second tab underneath the materials list to discover the games you can play with your nativity card deck.

Card Games to Play with Your Nativity Card Deck:

Go Look! (Spin off of Go Fish):

The goal of this game is to collect as many sets of 4 as possible. Start by shuffling the deck. Deal 5 cards to each player. Place the remaining cards face down in the center. This is the draw pile. Each player will take turns asking another player "Do you have a [certain card]," attempting to make a set of four with the cards in their hands. If the other player has the card they asked for, the player must give them that card and any other cards of that same kind. If not, the person will reply "No, go Look!" The player will draw one card from the deck and put it in their hand. Then, it will be the next players' turn. When a player collects a set of 4, they will place them all face up on the table. This will continue until there are no more cards in the draw pile. Then, players will count their sets of 4. The player with the most sets wins.

Matching Game:

To play the matching game, start by finding all 4 matches for each kind. You only need two of the four matches to play this game, so remove 2 of each matching set. Put all the remaining pairs into one pile and shuffle them. Lay them face down in a grid pattern. Players will take a turns flipping over two cards. If the two cards match, the player will keep the cards. If not, they will flip the cards back over. When all the matches have been found, players will count the amount of matches they collected. The player with the most matches wins.
