PROVERBS 16:24 - The Effect of Kind Words

Materials:

black hemp cord or bracelet string
clothespins
clear tape
markers
hole punch and white paper (or googly eyes)
glue stick
scissors
measuring tape or ruler

CLOTHESPIN BEE CRAFT

Clothespin Bee Instructions:

Step 1:

To start, cut about 3 and 1/2 inches of hemp cord or bracelet string.

Step 2:

fold the piece of string in 1/2.

Step 3:

Using a small piece of clear tape, attach the string to the inside of your clothespin.

Step 4:

Next, color the entire clothespin yellow.

Step 5:

Add stripes to the bottom portion of the clothespin on both sides.

Step 6:

Once you have finished that, it is time to add eyes. You could glue on googly eyes, but I just used hole punched paper.

Step 7:

Decorate the face of your bee.

Step 8:

Moving on to the wings, you will need to cut a coffee filter in half.

Step 9:

twist the half sized filter to create the wing shape for your bee.

Step 10:

Clip the wings inside of your clothespin to finish up your bee craft.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Honeycomb Dice Roll Game & Maze:

Print the PDF below front and back for each child.

The first page of the attached document contains the honeycomb dice roll game. To play this, each child will take turns rolling a dice and filling in the corresponding number of hexagons. The first person to fill in all of their hexagons win the game. On the flip side of this game, you will find a maze which can help you fill up the remainder of class time.

Blindfolded Taste Test:

To introduce the topic you could have one or several volunteers get blindfolded to test their sense of taste. After blindfolding them you can put a little honey on a spoon and have them guess what it is. From there you can introduce the verse and jump into the activities.
